WEB DEVELOPMENT

Here are various web projects that I have developed in class and at work at Teachers College.
Those projects are mostly designed for educational purposes, though there are two websites that primarily support the college's branding and marketing efforts.

Chat app

In this exercise, we collaborate to develop our own chatroom, utilizing Riot and Firebase.

Fakebook

An app allows users to interact with our platform's functions to learn pertinent information about how to recognize fake news from credible ones.

MST STEM Site

The Department of Mathematics, Science, and Technology at Teachers College is launching a series of STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) initiatives! This site is the space to showcase what the department has been working on.

Cybersercurity learning for kids

Our project addresses cybersecurity learning of teenagers by simulating realistic problems that arise in communicating with strangers online. Through interacting with our programmed conversational agent (the stranger), users will be exposed to situations where they will be prompted to either disclose or protect their private information. After each conversation progresses through the chat, users will accumulate cybersecurity points for each response choice and will receive a feedback about their cybersecurity knowledge and channels for additional learning.

Office of Digital Learning website

This is the official website of Office of Digital Learning at Teachers College, Columbia University where I work. I have developed the prototype site and handed it over to the college's web development team to build it in T4 CMS.

Personalized lesson for Cognitive Load Theory

This lesson is designed to provide a personalized learning experience for those who are interested in learning about Cognitive Load Theory. Learners need to answer a few simple questions before entering lesson and the lesson will be customized for them accordingly.

Lesson on Multimedia Principles

This mini constructivist lesson on multimedia principles is designed to raise awareness of the multimedia design principles and teach students how to apply those principles when designing instructional content, especially lecture presentations.

Hungry Bird

This is a virtual pet that I created in my "Theory and Programming: Interactive Media" class. As the name suggests, the bird always feel hungry so your main job is to keep feeding it to make the bird stay alive and happy by hitting Feed me button. Every time you do that, there will be an apple, a strawberry, a pineapple, or a broccoli that randomly appears on the screen and the bird will go get it.
